Nafpaktos, also known as Lepanto, is a port on the northern coast of the Corinthian Gulf of Greece. Nafpaktos was for a long time a controversy between the akais and the etols, the latter eventually gaining control of the city. From ancient times there is a Poseidon, a Asklepios and a Dionysus Temple. The city is also famous for the battle of Lepanto, which was fought on the water outside the city of 1571.
Beaches
Severall beaches in Nafpaktus city as, Grivobo and Psani, organized, clean water and offer many convenient facilities such as showers, changing rooms and lifeguards, facts that have awarded them with the Blue Flag. A fiew kilometeres outside the city you find our favorite beaches as Hiliadou (sand ). Monastiraki and the famous beachclub Blue Lake also in the beutiful small village of Monastiraki, all that just only 7-8 kilometeres from the city. Marathias and Skaloma are also worth a visit, these beaches are about 25 mins away from the city
